Conference Reports

The Woodleigh Institute provides open access to written reports and video highlights from past ReimaginED Conferences as a way of contributing to the work of innovative practitioners, researchers, school leaders and policy makers.


ReimaginED22

ReimaginED22 saw the scope for the conference expand to explore a range of challenges, issues and possibilities for innovation and systems change in education. The conference featured provocations by Valerie Hannon, Sandra Milligan, Peter Senge, Jan Owen, Hayley McQuire, and Char Palmer.


ReimaginED21

ReimaginED21 explored new pathways and possibilities for senior secondary education in Australia. The event was held online due to the speed of COVID. The conference featured a spotlight on the work of the Mastery Transcript Consortium and its member schools in Australia and the USA.


ReimaginED20

The Pre-conference Workshop at ReimaginED20 explored the Australian context for the education of 15-19-year-olds and the opportunities for improving their educational pathways. It examined the traditional barriers to innovation in this phase of education and the emerging possibilities for a move beyond ATAR. The main conference was unfortunately cancelled due to the spread of COVID.


ReimaginED19

The inaugural ReimaginED Conference focused on nurturing innovative thinking and deep collaboration for systemic change in senior secondary education. To read the conference report, click on the following link.

ReimaginED23 - Melbourne

ReimaginED Melbourne 2023 focused a spotlight on the emerging futures for education, exploring topics such as teacher and student agency, systemic wellbeing in schools, and education for sustainability and regeneration. The conference featured provocations by Allegra Moloney, Kevin House, Louka Parry, Anne Knock, Leanne Hamley, Alex Bell, and Mette Boell.

ReimaginED23 - Fremantle

2023 saw the launch of a second, traveling conference to complement the annual gathering in Melbourne, with the Woodleigh Institute partnering with All Saints College and Djoowak: The Beyond Boundaries Institute to host the first ReimaginED Conference in Western Australia. The traveling event is designed to immerse participants in the unique experience of a place and its people, while building dynamic networks for learning and collaboration that transcend the traditional barriers for change. The conference featured provocations by Tony Wagner, Glen Savage, Ernie Dingo, Sandra Milligan, Jan Owen, and Mette Boell.
